The 1986 album ‘Graceland’ marked Paul Simon’s return to musical success. Inspired by a cassette of traditional South African Township music, blending the sounds of Jaiva with zydeco and pop rock, the record began with a controversial two week stint of recordings in Johannesburg South Africa with local musicians. The first track on side two of ‘Graceland’ would become Simon’s greatest hit – and its music video would forever be remembered as the video starring Chevy Chase. This song is of course ‘You Can Call Me Al.’
