The 1986 album ‘Graceland’ marked Paul Simon’s return to musical success. Inspired by a cassette of traditional South African Township music, blending the sounds of Jaiva with zydeco and pop rock, the record began with a controversial two week stint of recordings in Johannesburg South Africa with local musicians.
