  It may come as a surprise that Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” is not the most covered song ever. That honor falls to the Beatles’ “Yesterday.” In the number two spot is a song born in Brazil, a bossa nova released in English in 1964: “The Girl from Ipanema,” sung by Astrud Gilberto.
